First off, Rayearth 2. I finally saw that today, and I really need to get it on DVD. Yes, the manga is generally thought of as better, but Rayearth 2 anime is powerful in its own right. It might be because of where I'm at in life, but that's something else.....
And for an update on me
I'm currently at graduate school in Albany, NY. ^_^ I'm taking 12 credit hours, which is a lot, but I want to get through the program as quickly as I can so I don't drive myself completely into debt. Residential Life had lost my housing application and dumped me in a dorm with undergrads who loved to party, but since someone never showed up at their University Apartments spot I am NOW in an apartment with 3 other graduate students. Yay!
I'm also dealing with some more personal issues at the moment. I'd rather not get into all of them here, but I know most of you who read this blog know how to contact me in other ways via IM. It mostly involves my wishes and desires creating a kind of emotional chaos, and I really can't talk to the person it involves about it...
Some old quizzes that I'm putting up. ^^;;;;
As far as stuff in life's going, I go to Long Island for almost a week starting on Wednesday. I finally got just about everything set for grad school, only thing left is to accept student loans. *groan* I really don't want to go further into debt, but I guess I can deal with it....
Green is your Lightsaber's color.
Green is the color of nature. It symbolizes growth,
harmony, and freshness. Green has strong
emotional correspondence with safety. Green is
also commonly associated with wealth and
happiness, so someone with a green lightsaber
like yourself is a fortunate soul.

will get pissed off at those who bug you. You
do whatever you can in your powers to help
those of your allies and have a okay taste for
human kind, but you find them rather annoying
on occasions.

You are the Spirit of Anger. You are every inch the
bad girl. Something happened to make you so
angry and you need to channel it out, if anyone
gets in your way, they're in for a big shock.
Friends are not essential for you, you don't
care whether they're there or not. But if you
do have friends they will be the most loyal for
it takes a lot to become your friend. You
attract people to you, so a partner is no
trouble but if they can't handle you then
they're out the window.

Wow, it's been a long time since I posted. Okay, quick updates:
Work -- job at GameStop ended in January. I have a new job now working at Subway in downtown Duluth during the lunch rush. At least it's a job. I'm also heading to a city seasonal job fair in 2 weekends, the city should pay better than Subway does. And I'll NEED the money.
School -- I have to decide between two graduate schools: Syracuse University and SUNY-Albany. Ironically, tuition at Albany is less than it would be for me to go to the U of MN if they actually had library science. It's just that I also need on-campus housing.
Personal Life -- In January I took a trip and stayed with Matt (obsidian to former *grep members) for a week at his parents' house. It's strange how that place felt more like home to me than my parents' house or my own apartment. @.@ So obviously, I had a lot of fun there--and his mother loves me while his brother thinks I'm a dork.
I also probably should be in some kind of counseling, but I don't have the money for it. Actually, I don't have money to go to a DOCTOR for anything unless it's my yearly gyno exam since I'm old enough to need them--and that won't be until December. Yay for Planned Parenthood so I can get at least some kind of yearly exam.
Lastly, I have started another blog that's about more private issues as well as me ranting about things when I start to get really angry. I'm hoping that can do some good, although I need to be better at writing in it. I'm not much of a diary person to begin with...^^;
Graduation Time!
My time in college is over now, although I don't get my diploma until my final grade is entered. I'm now one of The College of St. Scholastica's alumni, with a nice hefty student loan bill. >.> At least it's a 3-semester bill.....
On to the actual graduation ceremony: Only in northern Minnesota will there be such a ceremony. *laughs* Ceremony started with the traditional bagpipers and the procession of faculty and students, followed by a performance from a local school's Ojibwe drum group and then a performance from tenor Bill Bastian who teaches at the college. We had a state senator as the keynote speaker, and she kept her speech surprisingly short! We had 148 graduates walking across the stage, and the ceremony concluded with another performance from all the musical groups.
There was also a reception for all the graduates after the ceremony was over, but most of the graduates elected to just leave. A lot were adult students from other areas in the state, so they had to leave so they could get home shortly after dark. My parents treated me to dinner last night at the Radisson hotel's restaurant that overlooks the Duluth harbor, a real treat! ^^
So now, it's off to take care of graduate school applications and take the GRE and try to find employment until I leave. I'm applying to the master's of library science program in three East Coast schools--since that way I can use my computer and database knowledge in a way that will keep carpal tunnel from affecting me TOO much.
You are the Star card. The Star is the light of
hope. Shining in the night, sending light into
darkness, the stars provide direction to
sailors and are a field on which to dream.
Humanity used to look up at the sky and desire
to be there, to find out what it all meant, and
now we have been a distance into space and have
elementary ideas of the makeup of all the
different stars. This kind of achievement adds
further fuel to our hopes. The eternal,
slow-moving stars that will be long shining
past the end of our own existence provide hope
of immortality, and the vast space they suggest
and the very mystery they hold provide us with
excitement and knowledge yet to be discovered.

I so didn't do much with this over the summer...oh well, now that school's started I should keep this up better. ^_^;;;
Last week was my last week of working in the internship, I'm glad since data entry really is not my ideal kind of work. Problem is that I'm now unemployed. >.> There's not much around here other than fast-food and medical workers, although I did turn in an application to Suncoast. Tomorrow I'll be checking the student employment opportunity job listings outside Financial Aid and see if I can find anything there. I'd rather work at the college since it'd be just as easy for me to get to, and I can always hang out with friends after I get off work. *lol*
Let's see...what else...Matt visited Aug 13-16th so I didn't do much of anything all weekend. It was really fun, even with my brother coming on the 14th to stay for half a week, my poor apartment was fairly crowded! My parents had a huge fit about me meeting Matt, let alone him staying at my apartment even though my brother was around. >.> Just can't wait to hear their reaction to my plans for immediately after school. *rolls eyes* It's my turn to visit him, and I'm starting to save up money to go out to New York NOW.
Re-taking one last college course and then I'll have my bachelor's degree. *waves flag* Unfortunately, CINDY is teaching the course. She insisted on talking to me after class yesterday to find out what computer club did and what my future job plans are since she's my advisor. She's miffed at my lack of ambition, but I really don't want to be a programmer. I'd rather teach computers, train employees, even work a help desk which you don't -really- need a college degree to do. I can't work in a box, I like programming but not enough to make it my career, and I can't fit into corporate culture anyways no matter how hard I try to. I usually just end up hoping I don't screw up and listen to CDs just to make the time seem to go faster until my shift ends. @.@
